Many people cannot see God in the world they live in. They feel He is in some far off place, not paying any attention to what goes on in their daily lives. The problems of the world weigh them down, and they cannot see the miracles going on all around them every day.

Evangelist, Lorene Hall says, “When I was younger, I never thought about miracles. I never entertained the word miracle. I didn’t hear about miracles when I was growing up in those difficult times. I would tell anybody today that God is a miracle giver. When you talk about God, you cannot talk about Him without connecting Him to miracles.”

As a young, unwed mother, living during a time of segregation and poverty, Lorene brought herself out of the depths of depression with a rebirth of faith. When her infant son was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, her faith became even stronger. She prayed to God for a miracle, and got one. The doctor’s gave her son less than five days to live, now after 38 years, he is still alive and living a normal life.

Lorene believes that miracles can happen, even when we don’t deserve them. As parents we all want our children to grow up to be strong and healthy, praying for a miracle of our own when our children are ill. Learn how this mother raised a miracle child through a life threatening illness, and how you can deepen the faith in your life.

In order to have miracle causing belief:
- Put God first.
- Acknowledge there is a God.
- Believe that when adversity looms, there is a way out.
- Find God to be truth.
- Regardless of what we did in the past, God forgives us.
- Do not feel guilty any more.

Following these steps will lead you to joy and peace. It will be a comfort, bringing solace in times of trouble. You will see your faith lead to healing and second chances. Even when tragedy falls upon you, and everything seems impossibly bleak, faith will see you through.

Whether you have a child with a life threatening condition, or some other type of personal tragedy, having faith is an important thing. Maintain your faith through these trying times:

- Study the religious books.
- Become a believer.
- Believe in love and abundance of this universe.
Use prayer as a proactive tool to learn how to grow your faith so that important miracles can happen. Prayer is powerful, connecting you to the immense universe. It allows you to tell God how you feel and hear what He has to say. Ask God to help you even when you have doubts from a crisis of faith. You can ask God anything, and He will tell you anything. God will understand you when no one else can.

If you are raising a child with a life threatening illness, or know someone who is, implement some of these powerful techniques to ease the pain for both of you:

- Be gentle and compassionate.
- Give a lot of care.
- Do it all with love.
- Remember that even if you are tired and frustrated, he or she is the one suffering. Take all the time you need, even if it means staying up all night.
- Stand by the bed, talk, encourage, and say everything will be alright.
- Just be there.

Focus on making God the center of your life. When you do that, there is nothing you can’t ask God to do. He is concerned about your struggles, and what you are going through. Your faith will make you feel special, give you self esteem, and bring you to a place of peace and contentment.

On 3rd July 2009, I was called by my son’s school nurse; he was very ill and resting in the nursing room of the school with a very high fever of 39.2 degree C. I rushed to the school and took him to the nearby hospital.  He was diagnosed as Influenza A or the dreadful flu of year 2009.  Since the flu has no known medicine, the hospital gave us only some pain killers to reduce his fever and taught us how to care at home, to prevent heat shocks. A further test for H1N1 was performed at the lab.  The lab needs 6 days to verify the virus.

Feeling so bad, I have to bring my son who was in immense high fever to home.  We cannot do anything but to wipe his whole body with ice water.  He can barely drink a very light soup and half cup of milk. However I assured him all the time that he will be well in 2 days time.  We never let him know that the hospital did not give him any medicine because the whole world had believed that this type of flu does not have any curable medicine.

His father and I took turn wiping his whole body with cold wet cloth and putting powder on his necks and arm pit.  At night time the fever rose to nearly 40 C.  We were in panic, we keep talking to our son the whole night and wipe his high fever off with cold wet cloth.  I spread love to all beings in this universe, I wished that all beings be happy and healthy and all beings be free from any form of illness and diseases.  I pray to God for a miracle for my son.  I prayed him that he is well in 2 days.

At night he was resting but cannot sleep because of frequent requirements for wiping his body with cold wet cloth.  As we wipe, we stand by the bed, talk, encourage, and say everything will be alright to him.  Due to the high fever, he was weak and closed his eyes but we know he was not sleeping, so we assured him the whole night that he would be well in 2 days.

The next morning, the temperature fell to 38.5 C.  We were very encouraged.  My son was fed toasted plain bread and a cup of soup in the morning.  Despite his fever, he asked for more.  Worried that much food might bring him higher fever, we offered him some juices only.  But in the mid day, he was yelling for more food, so he was fed with two slices of toasted bread and some chicken soup.  In the evening, the temperature fell more to 37.9C. He had his dinner well, an egg, some slices of bread and chicken soup.

On the third day after the attack, my son’s temperature was back to normal.  We prepared a big pot of chicken boiled rice.  He ate cups after cups of the rice soup. He ate like a sportsman.

The fourth day, he is very well, did not wish to spend on bed anymore, he was moving along the home, doing little light jobs and requesting us to allow him to go back to school the next day.  He could eat very hearty meals and feeling OK.

On the fifth day after the most dangerous flu attack of year 2009, my son went back to school.  All his friends are very delighted to have him back, but the authorities at the school was very shocked that someone could come back so quick.  The Thai government had declared that anyone who suffered the flu of 2009 must take seven to ten days rest.  So his class teacher drive him back to home with a letter form the school that he is to rest a minimum of seven days as per the Government regulations.

On the day that the Lab test declared him that he was infected by H1N1 virus, my son is at home playing basketball after a miraculous fast recovery.

We cannot believe that my son could be well in such a short time. He had overcome the most dreadful flu of 2009 by cold wet wipes, positive assurances and prayer. It is a miracle granted by God to my prayers.  When somebody near you is seriously sick, only thing they need from you is very positive assurance. The most important thing is to show love. Your strength will come from God. There are amazing things that happen over and over again in this world. Miracles do happen.
